If you don't feel like reading my idiotic blabber about this wonderful band but would like to know, hear
or see more make your choice and visit the links below.
A few of these pages may take a while to load (because of large MP3 files and/or overexcessive use of (youtube)
video files), during which time you'll probably sit there watching a black screen, with a vacant expression on your
face or damn near falling asleep depending on the speed of your internet connection.
But be patient!! it will come! I promise ^_~

Buck-Tick
(Pronounced Bakuchiku in Japan, which, apparently, means firecracker)
So...quite some years ago I discovered Buck-Tick...
I don't think I can even begin to describe how this band took me by storm, and what their
music does to me. I don't think I can tell you enough how much I love these guys (in case you are really
daft and didn't notice that already on your own), and I also don't think I can even begin to explain to you how badly
I want to see them live...
...but dammit! I'll frickin' try!
My first encounter with Buck-Tick was their incredible song Dress (1993, Darker than Darkness) and not only
did the music immediately have a huge impact on me, Atsushi's voice haunted me in a way that I wanted to know and hear
more.
I fell in love with Sakurai-san right there and then. (He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to be mine!..Hell
yes! ^_~).
*melts*
Atsushi - gorgeous singer, performer, and drop dead sexy!
So what do you do when you very intelligently
realise you really like a band but you don't know shit about them?
Yes! you get your butt on the net and start
searching for their music.
Now hold on! don't you boo me for downloading
things...
I always check things before buying
it.
Japanese CDs are expensive dammit, and I'd
rather not buy a CD the price of a small family car to find that the music on it sucks like a Hoover on steroids.
So after a little searching I found the torrent
for the Devil and Freud; Climax Together live DVD to check out and
see.
I can honestly say that that torrent made
me fall h.o.h. in love not only with Atsushi (because that already happened..duh), but with this band, the sound, the
performance and everything around it, and this gorgeous DVD box (with CDs) is now gracing my DVD music collection.
Today, It's still one of my favourite live
performances of this amazing band.
I know people tend to do the opposite of
what they are advised, but you seriously sell yourself short if you don't know this band and the wonderful music they create
and are not willing to find out.
So if you want to be a Stubborn Mule and
don't feel like checking this page every now and then for new MP3s it's basically your loss and I can't (and won't) do a flying
thing about it.
But!!
If you are checking this page every now and
then for new MP3s then I can only hug you intensely, applaud you for your wisdom and tell you (quite arrogantly) that you're
a very smart cookie! ^_^
Buck-Tick's impressive discography is quite extensive and
various, and their music varies from blistering rock, dark, moody gothic and sensitive ballads, to funky up beat songs,
so there's bound to be something to your liking in there.
I can't really say I have a preference to any of their different
styles, (and I say 'different styles' with the utmost care because whatever style they use, the music they create is always
200% recognizable as Buck-Tick) because I love everything they make (although I'm a total and helpless sucker for songs like
Zangai, My Fuckin' Valentine, Muchi no Namida and Muma - The Nightmare).
I'm currently working on their Discography, with the intention
of making a seperate page for each of their albums, complete with tracklists and lyrics
(yes..I am sparkling nuts! Hey! a rabid, obsessive fan girl's
gotta do what a rabid, obsessive fan girl's gotta do right?).
Not because there isn't already something like that on the
net (because if you know where to look there's plenty to find), but because I want to do this myself, for me, as a
fan.
Hopefully you'll find it at least a little bit interesting
too.
Imai - main guitarist, noise creator, composer and utter genius
I do have to cover my ass and put a little disclaimer here
about those lyrics; I do not speak Japanese (apart from the words every Jack and his dog seems to know) and I can only hope
that the lyrics I post are correct. For all I know I could be posting some text about someone's mother humping the family
camel or something!
...but I digress!
For the Anime fans amongst you;
Buck-Tick provided the OP songs for the anime series Trinity Blood (Dress) and Night Walker (Gessekai).
That both these series are about vampires should not be a coincidence.
They recently released their new single Kagerou, which will be used as the Ending theme of XXX-Holic!.
Hidehiko: tall and silent, it seems to be the curse of the second guitarist
Maybe one day I'll get silly and put up the story on how the boys met and formed Buck-Tick.
It is well known amongst Buck-Tick fans and the entire story can be found on many (J-Rock) sites on the
net (even though the English translation could use a little help).
Uta is just too cute for his own good!! Why is it that the bass player's so often the nice guy? ^^
I don't know what it is with Uta, but there's something about him that makes you just want to
hug him. Maybe it's his height, maybe it's because he has that cute thing going on, even now, in his 40ies he still looks
boyish.
I know, I know..totally biased and silly fangirl remark there, but I mean, look at him!
The long hair suits him just fine. ^^
Lovely Toll: and I don't know why, but the drummer is always last >_<
Little side note: I LOVE this image!
It's one of few pictures of our mighty Toll that shows him with his hair down.
Isn't he just pretty? and doesn't he look a lot like his brother in this picture?
